30A Vacation Checklist

La Dolce Vita

As you readied yourself to visit the 30A area, you probably had many tasks to tackle. Now that you’ve arrived, here’s another kind of To-Do list (and don’t worry – this one is way more fun!)

1 Bike the Timpoochee Trail

Bike the Timpoochee Trail from any point along the 18 miles stretch of scenic highway 30-A. On the far western end, the bike path starts near Topsail Hill Preserve State Park known for serene beaches and tree-lined dune lakes. A couple miles eastward, you’ll find the bustling energy of Gulf Place. Here you can stop for raw oysters at Shunk Gulley, homemade pralines at Pecan Jack’s, or a refreshing craft beer at Growler Garage. As you make your way down 30-A, you’ll find each community has its own brand of charm. Check out local art in The Shops of Grayton and some of the best baked treats around at Black Bear Bread Company. Just a few more miles up the road you can fuel up on anything from doughnuts to barbeque at the airstream eateries in Seaside. If you find yourself near Alys Beach or Rosemary Beach, be sure to stop and take some photos with their phenomenal architecture. No matter how you choose your adventure, a bike tour of 30-A is a must. View 30A Bike Rentals →

2 Get Paddle Boards

When staying in South Walton, taking time to paddle board on the Gulf is guarantees a whole new perspective of the Emerald Coast. Out on the open water it’s very common to see manta rays, sea turtles and dolphins up close! Paddle out from Grayton Beach State Park and you can see more species of incredible marine life in the artificial reef situated off shore. You can’t beat paddle boarding as an incredible form of exercise for mind, body, and soul. View 30A Kayak & Paddle Board Rentals →

3 Cruise 30A in a Golf Cart

There’s something about taking a spin on a golf cart that makes everyone smile. Having one makes every trip around town fun. Grab ice cream with the family at Blue Mountain Creamery if you are on the west end. Or if you are staying close enough by, take your rented golf cart down to Rosemary Beach on Sunday mornings to visit their Farmers Market and grab some fresh locally-grown Florida produce or other artisan food creations. 5 Relax on the Beach

Maybe you don’t need reminding, but the #1 must-do activity when vacationing on 30A is to spend the whole day with your toes in the sand.
